How to Plan a Mexican-Inspired Dinner Party

In honor Cinco de Mayo, we’re sharing some tips for planning a Mexican-inspired dinner party.

First Things First: Create the Perfect Menu

Right now, we’re planning a wedding reception for June 27th that will feature food stations, each with a different twist on traditional Mexican cuisine. We’ll also have a kids’ taco station complete with nacho cheese! To come up with the menu, we sat down with the bride and groom to figure out their favorite elements of Mexican cooking. We also discussed options for creating a unique feel at each of the different stations. Here’s what’s on the menu:

Black Bean and Corn Salsa
Three Pepper Salsa
Assorted Corn Chips
Tex-Mex Station
Caribbean Station
American-Mex Station
Beef Brisket Taco Meat
Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos
Mini Pulled Pork Burritos
Sautéed Pepper and Onions
Black Bean and Sweet
Chicken Verde Tostadas
Mexican Rice
Potato Enchilada Bake
Pico de Gallo
Refried Beans
Pineapple Salsa
Salsa Verde
Mixed Melons with
Pico de Gallo
Fresh Guacamole
Fresh Herbs
Fresh Guacamole
Corn and Soft Taco Shells

Queso Fresco, Cilantro,
Salsa, Sour Cream,
Sour Cream, Queso Fresco
Lettuce, Shredded Cheddar,
Shredded Monterey Jack
Late-Night Snack
Jalapeno Mac & Cheese
BBQ Pork Sliders
You certainly don’t have to have appetizers, three different stations, and a late-night snack, but remember to have fun and be creative when designing your menu for the evening!
